Upcoming: International Workshop “Iron Curtains or Artistic Gates?” 19-20 Sep. 24

We invite you to attend the international workshop “Iron Curtains or Artistic Gates? Communism and Cultural Diplomacy in the Global South (1945–1991 and Beyond).” This workshop aims to reexamine the cultural interactions between communist Europe and the Global South, offering new perspectives on historical narratives that have often been overlooked.

Participants will explore how art, culture, and heritage have functioned as instruments of diplomacy and solidarity, shaping both historical and contemporary global relations. Through a series of case studies and theoretical discussions, the workshop will address key actors, power dynamics, and the lasting impact of these cultural exchanges.
