Behind the Scenes: A Special Excursion with Noémie Étienne’s Master Students
Last week, master’s students in Noémie Étienne’s thesis seminar had the opportunity to engage with museum collections and archival research as part of their thesis work.
The day started with a visit to the Archaeological Collection at the Institute for Classical Archaeology, where Matthias Hoernes, curator of the collection, introduced the students to its holdings and research practices. Later, at the Archive and Library of the Technical Museum Vienna, Carla Camilleri (Head of the Archive and Library) and Bettina Jernej (specialist in Austrian railway history) led a discussion on provenance research and its complexities.
A huge thank you to our hosts for their time, expertise, and valuable insights!
